At L’Equino Essentials, we specialize in clean, secure, and symmetrical braids tailored to your discipline and horse’s unique features. From classic button braids to elegant hunter-style plaits and flawless forelocks, every braid is done by hand with care and experience - so you can focus on your ride, knowing the details are taken care of.

If you'd like to keep your horses mane long or thick we will still do the braiding without cutting or trimming the mane however, an excessively thick or long mane may not give the results you'd like. If this is the case we will discuss the options and outcomes when we arrive and we will proceed with whichever option you'd like. We can braid your horses mane even if they have thin patches by adding in false mane sections to boost your horses mane for an even set of rosettes

Below is the services price list for our equine services.
Partial & Custom Clips are classed as any clip that is not a full clip and does not put any fancy patterns into your horses coat
Full clips are classed as the removal of all hair from your horses body, face and legs.
Pony is classed as 14.2hh or under
Horse is classed as 14.3hh to 16.2hh
Draft is classed as 16.3hh or over

Terms & Conditions of Services
By booking and using our services you are agreeing that you have fully read and understood the following terms and conditions of our services.
Horse Behaviour & Safety
The safety of both horses and handlers is our highest priority.
We are happy to work with nervous horses and alongside veterinarians where sedation is required. However, we reserve the right to refuse or discontinue a clip if a horse displays behaviour considered unsafe or dangerous.
If sedation or calming products are required, owners are responsible for supplying and administering them prior to the appointment.
If a clip is unable to be completed due to unsafe behaviour:

Charges will apply for the work already completed.

A $15 handling fee may apply where dangerous behaviour was not disclosed prior to the appointment or appropriate sedation was not arranged where required.
Where we were notified in advance and suitable arrangements had been made, no additional handling fee will apply.
Behavioural and Horse Health Conditions
All horse behavioural, health and skin related issues must be disclosed at the time of booking. This includes mites/lice, infections, sedation being required (must be owner or vet supplied AND administered) and horses who are being clipped for the first time or are likely to have behavioural challenges.
Appointment Changes
When your horse is booked in please ensure you select the correct clip and any add-ons accordingly as clip changes or add-ons are not always possible on the day.
Appointment Cancellations & Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change and will always do our best to accommodate rescheduling where possible.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment time will incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the booking value to cover lost labor of the appointment slot.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment time will incur the full appointment fee.
Following a late cancellation, future bookings may require a 50% deposit to secure an appointment.
Regional & Away Trip Cancellation Policy
Due to the extensive travel planning, route optimization, and vehicle costs involved in my regional away trips, a strict 5-day cancellation policy applies.
Cancellations made 5 or more days prior to the start of the trip will incur no fee.
Cancellations made within 5 days will incur a 50% cancellation fee to cover locked route planning and lost labor.
Cancellations made once the trip has commenced, or with 24 hours, will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
Your fee will be completely waived if you can find another horse owner on your immediate route to take your exact scheduled time slot for an equivalent service.
Route schedules are final once the trip begins. Exceptions for extreme weather or emergencies are at our sole discretion. Unpaid cancellation invoices will result in a suspension of all future bookings.
No Show Policy
If we arrive for a scheduled appointment and the client is unavailable or the appointment cannot proceed, the full appointment fee will remain payable.
If you are running late, please notify us as soon as possible so we can advise accordingly. If no communication is received and we attend the appointment to find no one available, we will not be able to wait for extended periods and the full no-show fee will still apply.
Rescheduling
We are happy to reschedule appointments where availability permits. If alternative times cannot be arranged due to limited client availability, the booking may be treated as a cancellation and applicable fees may apply in accordance with our cancellation policy.
Payment
Failure to make payment may result in future bookings being declined and the matter escalated if necessary.
Risk Management
We take great care when handling every horse and always work to provide a safe environment for both horses and people.
As horses are naturally unpredictable animals, there are inherent risks involved with handling, clipping, braiding, and other grooming services. By booking our services, you acknowledge and accept these inherent risks.
While every reasonable care is taken, L'Equino Essentials cannot accept responsibility for injuries, illness, accidents, loss, or damage that occur as a result of a horse's behaviour or circumstances outside of our reasonable control.
Owners are responsible for ensuring their horse is suitable to be handled and for advising us of any behavioural, health, or medical conditions that may affect the safe completion of the appointment. Owners are also responsible for ensuring a safe working environment without unnecessary hazards such as tight space, loose dogs and slippery surfaces.
We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue a service at any time if we believe it is unsafe to continue for the horse, ourselves, the owner, or anyone else present.
Horse Preparation Requirements
To ensure the best possible clip quality and protect our equipment, horses must be:

Caught and ready at the scheduled appointment time

Completely dry
Your horse must be bathed prior to your appointment. To ensure they are clean and dry it is recommended to bath your horse the day prior to the appointment and rug them overnight in a clean rug.
Appointment Preparation
Please ensure your horse is caught and ready at the scheduled appointment time to allow appointments to run smoothly and on schedule.
Dirty or Wet Horses
Dirty, greasy, or wet coats can damage clipping equipment and significantly affect clip quality.
We reserve the right to refuse service where a horse is not suitably prepared. In these cases, appointment and travel costs may still apply.
Where clipping proceeds on a horse with excessive dirt, grease, or staining that causes excessive wear or damage to blades, a $40 blade replacement fee may apply.
Weather Conditions
In the event of unsafe or severe weather conditions, appointments may need to be rescheduled.
Where suitable undercover or safe working areas are available on the property, appointments may still proceed as planned.
Loyalty Program
Loyalty points are earned per appointment, not per horse.
Loyalty discounts apply to the service cost of one horse only, regardless of the number of horses included within the appointment.
